Parting Words

I am a free woman, readers. On November 8, 1918, I was freed from prison (fist pump) and so was Karl Liebknecht, reunited again!. As you may know, we started to reorganize the Spartacus League and founded the Red Flag newspaper, which asked for the abolition of capital punishment. Both of us were part of a joint congress of the Spartacus League, independent Socialists, and the International Communists of Germany. Eventually our Spartacus League was renamed the Communist Party of Germany on January 1, 1919. In addition, I also founded the Weimar Republic. I ask myself everyday.. why am I so amazing? Rhetorical question, my readers!
Around the same time this month, I realized that my fellow members of the Communist Party of Germany only wanted the Spartacus uprising as a means to seize power. I was devastated.. that was not what I was aiming for at all. The uprising failed.. and so did my hopes. I was so embarrassed, but to add onto this disappointment, the Socail Democratic leader Friedrich Edbert ordered his men to destroy the revolution. It was the single most infurating thing ever. Anyways, Karl and I were arrested (AGAIN!!!!) on January 15, 1919. Captain Wldemar Pabst and Harst von Pflugk-Hartung from Garde-Kavallerie-Schützendivision (a Social Democrat party), questioned us and gave out the order for his men to execute us! That foolish man, I vow to haunt him for the rest of his life!! Now, fellow readers. I am sitting in this cold room, anxiously awaiting my fate. I will cherish all I have done and I hope you guys will remember me! This may be my last time posting anything up here. I do not regret anything, and forever and ever.. Communism shall prevail !!! Peace out everybody! My time is up!

Words of My Wisdom Part 4

"Freedom only for the members of the government, only for the members of the Party - though they are quite numerous - is no freedom at all."

Inspired

Cold, dark and lonely… I remember those feelings as I was arrested in Warsaw, 1906. Sorry readers. That was just a random fact about me.. But ironically, here I am. In prison. Again. In August of 1916, my boy K. Lieb (Karl Liebknecht), Clara Zetkin, and Franz Mehring, founded the Spartacus League and we thought it be a neat idea of we published illegal, anti-war pamphlets which were pseudonymously signed as “Spartacus”. (All this secret stuff we did gave me such an adrenaline rush. It was awesome). Anyways, we rejected the SPD’s supposrt for the war… and that’s what got me arrested.
It’s World War I right now, and here I am, stuck in prison for the bulk of it (big sigh), and I don’t get to participate much in it. Anyways, as I am stuck here, and I am working on my Spartakusbriefe and Die Russisce Revolution, and it will talk about how the October Revolution forgoes a world revolution. I must admit… I can really concentrate while I’m locked up! I am also going to start writing The Junius Pamphlet under my pseudonym Junius (fellow readers, don’t rat me out on this one!) Once I get out of this wretched place, I vow to start some kind of uprising in Berlin….hmm… I’ll probably call it the Spartacist uprising. Yes! It is determined! No longer will I sit back and watch what unfolds, I will act upon it! I, Rosa Luxemburg am determined to make my mark on history and convince the public that the government is all wrong. Once again, Rosa Luxemburg shall conquer all!

Compilations

Wow, it’s bad enough to disagree with one popular man (Eduard Bernstein)… but to disagree with two?! Insanity! I can’t help myself though! As many of you may know, many of my hopes were NOT granted… for example, the Revisionist ended up staying in the SPD, to my dismay….and embarrassment. But in 1904, I just had to disagree with the theories of Lenin. I published Organizational Questions of the Russian Democracy in which I argued that Lenin’s thesis is that the party Central Committee should have the privilege of naming all the local committees of the party. It should have the right to appoint the effective organs of all local bodies from Geneva to Liege.… That was a pretty good start, right? I honestly disagreed with Lenin’s views on centralism and said that it was prone to a communist dictatorship. So as of now, my relations with Lenin are quite uncomfortable… I have to admit. I have done some pretty crazy things in the past years. I remember having a terrible view of war in Germany, so I roused a general strike against German militarism/imperialism. In 1907, I went to the Russian Social Democrats’ Fifth Party Day, and guess who I met….. V.I. LENIN. The single most infuriating man ever. Readers, I hope you can empathize with my hatred and pain.
But all that was the past, it is 1914 now, and recently, there have been nationalistic cries in the Balkans which erupted in war. Now this, the SPD supported and they all voted in favor to agree to a truce with the Imperial government. But what horror! I hated it! Everything I have fought against! Against revisionism! This theory that I have been fighting against since 1899 had triumphed. Worst. Day. Ever. As a result, I am currently organizing an anti-war demonstration in Frankfurt to object to the military conscription and a refusal to obey orders. Although I believe I am doing this for a good cause, there has been rumors going around that I may get arrested for a year… But no matter. This is a chance I am willing to take in order for my voice to be heard.
Yes, revisionism may have succeeded, but it’s not over for Rosa Luxemburg. Rosa Luxemburg shall conquer all.

Eggcited!

It's a pun ! Get it ? Excited ? No? Okay whatever.
Forgive me, my dear readers, for I have been absent for a while. I recently got married (I am squealing as I type!) to my man Gustav Lübeck back in 1898!! To add to my great news, I got my German citizenship!!!!! We are now settling in Berlin, where I am an active member of the left wing of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). Over here, there’s this guy named Eduard Bernstein and he made up this little theory known as the Revisionism Theory…. I don’t really like him… so, I am going to make a brochure title Social Reform or Revolution. In this brochure, you’ll be able to see me use my rhetorical skill to denounce the SPD’s reformist parliamentary course. I am so excited to get started! I strongly believe that the biggest difference between capital and labor could only be encountered if the proletariat took power and made revolutionary changes in production methods…. Hey! I could put this in my brochure too! I am going to make Social Reform or Revolution the best it can be in order for my to get my point across. Maybe my husband can help me… the SPD needs neither Eduard Bernstein nor his followers (Revisionists) to posses a Marxist influence on this organization! But in all seriousness, I really want the Revisionists to stay out of the SPD.  Call me mean, or harsh, whatever. I expect my wishes to be granted. Why you may ask? Because I am Rosa Luxemburg. I am powerful. Rosa Luxemburg gets everything. Power to the Communists!

Introduction

I am Rosa Luxemburg. Before you begin reading about my life, I want you to know that I am a hard core communist. If you are offended by the things I write in my online journal, kindly exit this site. Thanks!
Let’s begin with my personal background! Though my buddy Karl and I founded the German Communist Party, I am actually from Poland. I was the fifth and last child of Eliaz Luxemburg and Line Löwenstein, born in Zamość, a Polish area of Russia on March 5 (I am not going to tell you what year, for obvious reasons). My family was of Jewish decent and my family was part of the lower middle class. If some of my readers have seen me in real life, you may notice that I have a limp in my walk. I’ll have you know that I was born with a hip problem which restricts me from walking properly. So all you people who make fun of me…you should be ashamed. Anyways, I have always been interested in politics at a young age. I remember being enrolled in the girls’ gymnasium in Warsaw at the age of sixteen. I graduated the top of my class; however, I did not get the gold medal that I deserved because I showed “an opposition attitude toward the authorities”. Later on in life, I became part of the Polish, left-wing Proletariat party. I started out organizing a general strike, but that didn’t end well as four of its leaders were put to death. The remaining members continued to meet in secret, but eventually the police tracked me down and in 1889, I had no choice but to flee to Zürich, Switzerland, or else I would have been imprisoned for my political views. I realized that I had to do something real in my life, so I decided to attend Zürich University. I took classes on philosophy, history, politics, and mathematics. These classes were cool, but what I really excelled in was in Staatswissenschaft and economic/ stock exchange crises.
In 1893, alongside Leo Jogiches and Julius Karski, we created the newspaper Sprawa Robotnicza (The Workers' Cause) which published in Paris and opposed the nationalistic policies of the Polish Socialist Party (PPS), whose main goal is the independence of Poland from Russia.  I was against capitalism and my denying of national self-determination under socialism provoked tensions with V.I. Lenin. (Whatever, I was obviously cooler than him) Around 1894, our Proletariat party was changed to be named the Social Democrat Party of the Kingdom of Poland (SDKPL) and merged with Lithuania’s social democratic organization. Even though I live in Germany for the bulk of my life, I am the principal theoretician of the SDKPL with my buddy Jogiches, the main organizer. As I have said before, I was against the Polish nationalistic views and when I voiced out my opinion that the PPS had no nationalistic tendencies and a proneness to diverting the workers from the path of class struggle, people such as Wilhelm Liebknecht accused me of being and agent of the Tsarist secret police (that absurd child). Nonetheless, no one could change my mind, and I stuck to my point. I wrote about my opinions and eventually became one of the main contributors to the most Important Marxist journal, Die Neue Zeit. I received a bunch of criticism, even from the well known Karl Kautsky aka “the Pope of Marxism”. But whatever, I do what I want, I write what I want, and I believe in whatever I want. Nobody can stop me, because I am Rosa Luxemburg.
